Creating a Trackmap Outline

Overview:

Trackmap outlines get saved as a car param for a session, however if the session doesn’t have a trackmap outline loaded, and you do not have a trackmap outline file (.rstTrack) then you will need to create one following the process below:

Creating a Trackmap Outline:

a) Open RST, select a game from the drop down menu.

b) Load into your game of choice, and begin data collection. After your outlap, hug the outside part of the track, I recommend having the car straddle the edge of the track as shown below:

c) After completing the lap around the outer edge, we will need to repeat the process for the inside lap, again I recommend hugging the inside part of the track as shown below:

d) Once you have completed the inside lap and outside lap, go back to RST and select those laps inside of RST.

e) Then navigate to File > Track Map Generator, you will then be prompted to save the Trackmap outline to your pc, pick a location and name for the file, and press save.

f) After clicking save, your track map outline has been generated and is ready to be loaded into a session, refer to https://racingsimtools.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RTD/pages/2228231 for this process.
